This gorgeous necklace features a stainless steel sugar skull pendant paired with moonstone, aquamarine, dumortierite, sodalite, sterling silver, and Czech glass seed beads. There's also a pair of carved mother of pearl roses, one on either side of the pendant.
Like everything I make, this piece is made with love and infused with Reiki. It would even make a lovely set of unconventional prayer beads!
The approximate length of this piece as shown is 27 1/4". For size reference, the neck of the bust is about 11 1/2"; the artist's neck is 17 1/2".
The crimp beads, pendant bail, bead caps and spacers are sterling silver. All other metal components are hypoallergenic, high quality stainless steel.
Everything is strung on sturdy, flexible, nylon-coated 49-strand stainless steel beading wire.
Metaphysical Properties
Sodalite is a stone of creativity, inspiration and protection. It is one of the main components in lapis lazuli, and it contains streaks of white calcite. This is a stone of healing, balance and harmony among groups of people. Sodalite is associated with water, wisdom and intuition. A stone of communication, sodalite is helpful in balancing the throat and third eye chakras. Use it to ease anxiety and learn how to trust your own instincts.
Dumortierite is a stone of patience, peace, confidence, and courage. It can help foster clarity of thought, enhance intuition, and increase psychic gifts. Boosts self esteem and helps clear mental or energetic clutter. It is associated with the throat chakra, and may also help to bring the lower and higher chakras into balance with one another. May also be helpful in releasing unhelpful personality traits, relieving pain, or healing gut or thyroid issues. This is a stone of good fortune, business success, and organization. Also helpful for instilling a sense of security or stability. I have also found it to be a helpful stone when dealing with grief.
Aquamarine, a stone with strong energetic connections to water, is named after the Latin “aqua marina”, meaning “water of the sea”. Wear or carry to increase psychic gifts, encourage peace, purify and aid in communication. Connected to the throat chakra, which governs the mouth, throat and thyroid; truth and speaking up for oneself are also connected to this chakra. Sailors and merchants of years gone by carried aquamarine to encourage safe journeys and prosperity; it is also said to protect against drowning. Encourages a clear mind, especially in emotional matters. May help with disorders of the autoimmune system.
Moonstone was used by ancient people in love spells and to divine the future. It is universally recognized as having a connection to the moon and the divine feminine. Use it to enhance intuition and soothe anxiety. Like pearl, moonstone is graceful and strong, while being quite beautiful as well. It can be used to make a talisman for connecting with water. Use moonstone to aid in relief of symptoms related to hormonal issues. Moonstone is used to balance the third eye and solar plexus chakras, and is a June birthstone. Use it to help you find luck in a new beginning, or to enhance creative inspiration.
Silver increases perception and balances emotion. It enhances the moon's energy and can be helpful in energizing other minerals during full and new moons. The color silver is often associated with goddess(es), the moon, psychic development, fluidity, insight, reflection and money.
