This unique necklace is made with wee faceted blue apatite beads, onyx, amethyst, rainbow hemalyke, abalone/pāua shell beads, and sterling silver spacers. The pendant was handmade by Steff at The Floating Gardens, using a black kyanite blade, tarnish resistant wire, and assorted gemstone accent beads.
Like everything I make, this piece is made with love and infused with Reiki. It would make a lovely set of unconventional prayer beads.
The approximate length of this piece is 23"; the length from the top of the metal link to the bottom of the kyanite blade is 4 7/8". The photo is of the artist, who has a 17 1/2" neck here. Please note that the mannequin is miniature, and is not to scale.
Remember to leave a little bit of wiggle room for your comfort and the size of the beads. If needed, there are extender chains in the add-on section of my shop. I can also create a custom-sized piece for you in many cases.
The crimp beads, spacers, and large accent beads are sterling silver. The textured chainlink from which the pendant hangs is textured aluminum. All other metal components are hypoallergenic, high quality stainless steel.
Everything is strung on sturdy, flexible, nylon-coated 49-strand stainless steel beading wire.
Metaphysical Properties
Apatite, which is associated with the air element, is known for clearing confusion, apathy and negativity, clearing the way for progress in personal goals. It has a cleansing effect on the aura, particularly when it comes to psychic gifts. Fosters clarity, concentration, peace and harmony. It is a stone of manifestation, service to others and humanitarian efforts. Aids in development of psychic gifts, increases motivation and fends off negative energy. Eases symptoms of apathy, anger and sorrow. Apatite is said to help with absorption of calcium, potentially strengthening cartilage, bones and teeth. May aid symptoms of arthritis and other joint issues, as well as hypertension.
Blue apatite is a wonderful stone for dreamwork, past life recall and can also be helpful with creative problem-solving. This gorgeous stone helps to balance the third eye and throat chakras. Fosters creativity and awakening of the inner/higher self. Blue apatite is also said to suppress hunger and calm fears stemming from dental treatment.
Amethyst is a type of quartz. It is calming, harmonizing, and good at drawing peaceful energy. It is a wonderful healing stone, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Amethyst can be used to aid in all kinds of psychic work, including enhancing one's intuition. It can be used to protect travelers and to ward off psychic attack. Like garnet, amethyst was often worn or carried into battle as a protective amulet. Helpful with past life recall. Really, amethyst is just a generally wonderful all-purpose stone!
Onyx's energies can aid in increasing intuition and joy, repelling negativity, finding balance and ridding oneself of bad habits. It brings strength and healing, and can enhance psychic workings. Onyx is also a grounding, protective stone which can aid in repelling negativity and psychic attack.
Hemalyke is a manmade material made to look and feel like natural hematite. True hematite is very brittle, making it rare and expensive when it comes to jewelry components. While it does not contain actual hematite, it is still grounding, as all dark-colored materials can help balance the root chakra.
Silver increases perception and balances emotion. It enhances the moon's energy and can be helpful in energizing other minerals during full and new moons. The color silver is often associated with goddesses, the moon, psychic development, fluidity, insight, reflection and money.
